240 overheated too many times, now it wont start :(

My 240 was overheating a bit and I would turn on the heat on and it would cool it down a bit. And there were times in traffic when it would overheat. When I would get going again on the freeway it would stay a little cooler. Also, when it ran hot, the AC wouldnt blow cool air. I know this was bad, but I was working as a contractor in SC and I was trying to nurse the car until I got back to NC. Now she wont start at all. Is it even worth trying to reapair, or is it time for a swap. I am not looking to do anything to aggressive, but affordable and easy on gas. Any suggestions would be helpful!

happened to the previous owner of the s13 i bought. headgasket blew... oil and antifreeze mixed. looked like a vanilla pudding bomb exploded inside the motor. not good.

if you're looking for something good and affordable just swap in the stock engine. should run around $300-400. look around, i'm sure you'll find something.
