civics are good cars....good gas mileage, wont break down within 5000 miles, and easy to fix up.

also for the whole rivalry thing. I dont think it has to do anything with the cars. I think its the drivers that make them a "rivalry"

iono...reading around might help you alot...and uh...i personally think civics are great cars...plan on getting one down the road someday...but anyways...rivalry huh?...interesting concept...i always thought that anybody, even drivers of domestics, that have the same goal to become a better driver, wanting to learn more about the automobile in general, improve your car in any way, have this passion for driving/wrenching on your car...are freinds...one love *****

 

Yeah youth is a beautiful thing...........the car you wish to get is a decent all around car that is great to drive they are slow but can be made fast, good luck on the buy and just remember you got a lot of time take and think about what you want to do with it and the car you want to buy.......just a thought. I have had many cars that I was disappointed with but made them better. There are some sesitive people on this board I guess so just stick to what you like because that is all that matters..........

 

I guess most 240's are all original, hell theres probably only one 240 with FN01R-C wheels.

240's also don't have many dress up parts, even though there are hundreds of aero parts (some hideous, some nice), altezzas, and gobs a stuff for show.

240's also have a whopping 155 hp (DOHC rated at crank), most of which are over 10 years old and probably aren't putting out nearly that amount anymore, have seen a 89-90 240 not putting out much more than 90hp

240's aren't that rare anymore, everyone and thier grandma are either buying them or want them.

Last time I checked most of the flaws you were trying to point out for the Civic apply for the Honda Accord too.

Also I am not bashing the 240sx, in fact I think they are awesome cars, I am just trying to show that so many people tend to bash on Civics for certain things that are present in the 240 community as well. Can't think on how to really word this because I'm tired but if I think about it later I'll edit this...

Plus, in general hondas last longer than 240s and depreciate slower. And they have a more successful open wheel racecar team. - so you cant just say something is slow b/c it's a honda.

 

i didnt say hondas were slow... i just hate civics... I think honda makes some of the most badass N/A engines around personally. They just put motors in their cars that are way too small to be worth trying to mod, hence the engine swaps

 

i wouldnt call the 2006 Si with 197HP, a 6 speed, and a LSD slow...just out of curiosity why do you hate civics?

It's not civics I hate. It's the 7/10 people that own them. Its the cut springs with the flashy, ridiculous rims, its the guys with enough money to put on a coffee can exhaust tip, but not enought money to fix that cheapo altezza hanging by a couple wires. Its the guys with unpainted body kits. The ones that want to race you if you so much as pass them up on the road. Its the guys that can somehow afford the lilly violet maaco paintjob, but are rolling on steelies. It's the plastic spinners with the ridiculous illegal window tint and chrome windsheild wipers.

And don't pretend you guys don't know what I'm talking about. half the civics I see are stock under the hood, but they have more aftermarket exterior parts that look like they were bought at toys r us than one can deal with.

With that thought out there. I think honda's are great cars with quality build. Just stop with the rice, its killing the worlds view of car enthusiasts.

 

yeah... pretty much the way i feel... but i hate the older civics... like pre-powerful civics. The ones that cant get out of their own way.. the ones that stop just a few feew shorter than a hummer. The newer ones, i can respect (cept for the fugly hatches). The newer ones have *****.
