one of my good friends has an 04 350z track edition with the phat enkeis and brembo upgrade brakes.
ive gone against him before and it doesnt surprise me that hes wonderin why he even hung in there cause off the line you can get a jump on a z in a 240. there powerband really likes to kick in in the higher ranges, and with the 6 speed if your sloppy your gonna loose time.
but on a serious note by 4th gear you should need binoculars to see the z
my 240 is mostly stock

I see, another Honda doubter.. Here's a lesson to learn.. MOST I mean MOST Honda drivers arent that fast.. usually in the 14s to 13 second class only. And there are those who are in the 15s to 16's+.. If you have'nt met the 10's to 12's Daily driven Honda's Don't talk about LS/VTEC Because LS produces good TQ and with the VTEC Head advancing the timing at certain RPMS (Just like having another set of camshafts thrown in at 5k RPMS.) the Head with the orginal block only produce 160 to 170hp. The Orginal block of the LS only push out 140HP But By mating the block and the head together completely Stock is dyno'ed TESTED at 204HP more then a Integra Type R'.

The head was port and polished w/ctr camshaft w/itr valves. The block was rebuilt and stuffed with ctr pistons for a high compression.. wait a min.. 204HP built right LS/VTEC in a small little civic hatchback is way then enough HP.. and setup is already in the 13s eaisly.. OH! and of course LS is has tons of TQ for a small civic.. breakin my axles at the tracks. Threw in all my internal goodies with my act 6 puk clutch kit when the motor was dropped in.. couple weeks later bought the usual and went to test my friends Stock Ev0 out. of course it took off on my on launch untill the end of 2nd gear I came up.. 3rd gear i ripped pass him 4th im up 2 cars.. then I threw a skunk2 intake manifold along with msd, swap out my tranny to a jdm itr tranny w/LSD.. This was far 1 of the Fastest ALL motor Civic in SACRAMENTO untill I Sold it.. But with-out the motor.. and hell yeah I still got plans for my motor sitting. The only All motor civic I couldnt beat was a Hatch k20. Who wanna doubt me now? PM and I'll set a date/time to run & Bring y0 best!

Actually if you built that thing right I can believe you...if it was a hatch. Was it? Youd have more luck getting those numbers with a k20 though...

This proves nothing to me. People can talk all day and night about what they've done to their cars, etc, etc. I've never SEEN you race your Civic, and I'll give you that--in a real life situation, anything could happen. There are a lot of factors. I don't DOUBT Honda at all.

Don't assume because I tell you that something that you CLAIM to have done; not to mention sounds fishy, that I doubt Honda. They can produce some numbers, and they are very reliable--but when you get right down to it; thats all they were really ment to do. THEY ARE ECONOMY CARS.

You ever hear that term: Theres no replacement for displacement? Well, yeah, that applies here. It's not that you can't make a Honda fast--because it's possible, but other than the K20a, any other Honda engine that you could build all-motor would NOT be able to keep up with street bikes, or even HALF of the things you listed as "things you beat".

There is only so much displacement you can get out of a Honda, even sleeved before jeopardizing the integrity of the cylinder walls.

Seriously though, you're a funny guy.

i love people talking about "big" TQ numbers out of motors that range from 1.5-1.8l NA and streetable. Ive met a few kids claim they had over 250ftlb of tq ot of there d16 with I/H/E and a decked head (wasnt shaved, he has 2 temp gauges and didnt see either go into the red).

hehe, this is funny. My 98 240sx feels just about the same in power at lower rpm ranges when my 350z was stock but at mid to high rpms my Z was faster. My 240 weights 500 lbs lighter than my Z so that would make a big difference too. But I like both of them just the same though.
