95-96 97-98 differences
1996: Base and SE models wore restyled grilles, and the base coupe got body-colored mirrors. The SE coupe lost its power antenna, now operating with the same fixed-mast antenna as the base model.
1997: A luxury LE edition joined in mid-1997, equipped with leather seats, keyless entry, an anti-theft system, and a CD player. Before that, the 240SX got a facelifted body. Revisions included a new front bumper and grille, redesigned hood and front fenders, and new headlamps and taillights.
1998: The 240SX is unchanged for 1998, and did not return for '99.
are the rear lights interchangable between the 96 and 98's? and do the front fenders still retain the same shape, just adjusted to fit the new headlights, right? and one last thing, someone said something about the chassis and interior being different?
thanks guys.

Yes the 97-98 tails do fit right into the 95-96 rear. Good luck finding a set of them, and if you do, hit me up because i have been looking for them FOREVER! The fenders are slightly different. Besides the obvious change for the different headlights, there is certain depressions along where the screws go in under the hood. I was going to buy these custom hood struts from this guy w/ a 97 LE rockin' a FMAX stage 2. He said that they wont work on the 95-96 because of the little difference i mentioned above.
The 2 fronts ends are pretty different, so much so that it wouldn't be possible to just put the 97-98(kuoki) lights onto a 95-96(zenki) without some serious body work. Hence the reason why ppl do the whole conversion.
The hood is completely different, the kouki has distinct lines that run from the top of the hood all the way down to the front grill. The zenki does not. From the drivers seat, the zenki has what seems like smooth bulges instead distinct lines.
The headlight and wedge lights themselves do not match up either. Whereas the wedge lights on the zenki are smooth, with a nice round shape that makes up the outer edge, the kouki's wedges are much edgier, with sharper lines to match the aggressive headlights. And of course, the most recognizable feature, the headlights themselves. Again, the kouki's lights have straighter lines, whereas the zenki's are rounder, and more smooth looking.

Oh and yea, the rear taillight sections are inter-changeable. I personally love my 95's rear lights. They go well with the overall look of the car. The whole design of the 95-96 240 was about smooth lines and sexy curves. Why change that with the 97-98 tails?
can you guys post pics of the differences of the tails? i cant seem to really notice (maybe looking at bad pics).
couple more things (thanks guys, by the way!!)...
are the rear bumpers the same?
interior differences
thanks

I've never analized(sp) the cars that closely, but both the interiors and the rear bumper should be the same. I think the leather was a little different between the SE modles. Just looked different really.
I know some of the colors, not all of em. If anyone has anymore or I'm wrong just point it out.
Super Black
Pearl White
Red
Maroon/Burgundy?
Silver Moss
White
Any others?
