hi

I need help anyone out there know alot about 240 i have an 96 and i swap a 95 240sx motor into my since my 96 motor not working well but I smog my car and is didn't pass Smog Should i change the ecu also or not or just Reset the code on the ecu on my 96 or i have to change to the 95 ecu from the motor i put it in?? anyone let me know asap thanks..

what can i do to make it pass smog? it have check engine light on and the code saiding is the evap purge control and the fuel& air meterius that's what is said you guys should know what is it But i was thinking the 95 motor the throtty is different from the 96 so i have to change the throtty from the 95 and replace the 96 Is it because of that of not passing Smog?? let me know thanks...

 

It's not passing because of the codes (CEL= auto fail), fix what ever codes its throwing, then reset it, check for codes again and if everythings good then it should pass.

 

So if i fix it and reset the code it should pass smog is that to hard to fix the check engine light right?? But i planning to convert my to stick shift as well. Well it bring up the check engine light out agian or not?? Cause the ecu is an obd 11 also. let me know you guys thanks...

 

The CEL is there for a reason, you are throwing codes. You pulled the codes and it told you what was messed up. Go and fix whatever the codes said was messed up, reset the ECU and then check the codes again. If no more codes show up you should be fine.
