air/fuel gauge connection ?

Where do I hook up the power so my air/fuel gauge turns on when the ignition is on and can I splice into a ecu wire instead of running it hrough the firewall all the way to the o2 sensor?
Thanks
Ryan

For power, just splice into anything that comes on with ignition, and, yes, you can splice the O2 wire at the ECU instead of going through the firewall.

"should be"? heh... actually it is. To clarify, that plastic cover to the right of your feet when you sit in shotgun... you might want to remove the right sill panel first... and you have to unbolt the whole ECU from the body to get to the wires because the ECU harness is positioned at the front (towards the engine bay). Also, disconnect your neg. battery post before doing this to avoid any strange static damage, etc.

find the correct wires (there's a ECU pinout diagram somewhere here) and carefully splice the a/f sensor wire in.

If you can wait about 7 days I can tell you step-by-step since I'm getting my gauge set soon, and one of them is an a/f
