i heard of em, my friend juss got a half n half deal with them on a SR swap. he should have a Redtop in his 90 hatch by the end of this month or sooner.

You apply for it, if they call you back, theyll ask you for i think $75 (which you'll get back after the whole deal is set) and they send you catologs and stuff and its either a half/half deal or 45-55 deal, where u pay only 45% of the products cost and they pay 55%.

You have to go to car shows and events and take pics so they know your not BS.

it sucks, i got sponsored by them , they sent me all the paperwork to sign. It's 50% off parts from only their catalog and RETAIL, who pays retail as is. and swaps have to be done at their designated shops . I turned it down.

Where did he have to get the motor from and who is doing the install?

I know that most of the sponsors I have had didn't have a buy in. It was more of a you do X we help you with Y.

there are several like that actually. usually if you have nothing or almost nothing already done. best way to get sponsored is to do body mods such as kitting and the flashy. then you can usually snag a deal where you don't buy in.

in my car club i had 4 members get it. but starting out is not very good they promise alot but to be honest u have to spend big money first and then they start to really work with you. I met a guy with a yellow NSX at the falken driftshowoff last year. HE told me that in the beginning he was putting out lots of money on the parts and then soon after they just were like giving him parts after he started winning comps.

ps they all cancled which cost about 100 something dollars i think

Why do you need to pay $75 to get sponsored? I have "some" sponsors but I didnt have to pay anything.

Thats not neccessarily true, sounds more like they gave you the shaft, the contract striclty states that you can do the swap yourself as well. I happen to have my girlfriends uncles shop to use and they do the work for free since I got my sponsor ship, I just have to have the logo of there shop as well on my rear windshield.
The contract also states that you need to show up for scheduled events within your area in order to get a good deal.
Half off is better than nothing off and they also got me contracts with other sponsors that are giving me shiat for free. It's really not that bad if you know how to play the system.
Shiat they were willing to offer me $7000 cash to do at will with my car to show up to Hot Import Nights, I said screw it my car looks like a beater and it would take more than 7 grand to pimp my ride.
It's just about performance for me......

They basically do the work, set up a financial account, it's like having a manager.

You basically did more work to get your sponsorship.

A couple of my friends tried to jump on the band wagon and they didn't get accepted and they didn't have to pay the fee either.

a friend of mine got one... drives a 92 or 93 MR2. It was for $12,000

It's really fu<ked though, i think they pay for hlaf or something. like he spends 12k then they do, totaling 24k so basically, he has ot spend 24k to get an actual benefit

I dont think that made any sense... but i'm condused on the whole thing too
