I think you guys are missing the point of a sponsorship and are misconstruing facts. Sponsors are there to get you into events that you normally couldn't get into.
Take for example the Gumball Rally, or the Players Run. Sponsors are willing to take care of the funding that you normally couldn't pay for.
My sponsorship has benefits, yeah it does suck that you do have to pay half on some products, but at the same time how does your sponsor feel about sponsoring you and handing shiat out for free, it's called the VICE VERSUS effect.
It's all about building a relationship, handouts just don't come to you, you have to earn the respect and gratitude it takes to earn what you guy's feel you deserve as freebees.
Personally I build my relationship with my sponsor by taking pics of my ride, the builds that I do, and the events I enter into.
Your sponsor wants proof that you can come through when they need you, after all you are a salesman for them once you get your foot in the door. You carry there advertising and they want you to make them proud especially if you want the money.
Like the movie Jerry Maguire, "SHOW ME THE MONEY!".
All I've seen in this thread is the selfish wellbeing that "they don't give me shiat for free" that is not the way to represent yourself especially if you wan't a sponsorship. Earn respect, it isn't just handed out!

I happen to have my girlfriends uncles shop to use and they do the work for free since I got my sponsor ship, I just have to have the logo of there shop as well on my rear windshield.
The contract also states that you need to show up for scheduled events within your area in order to get a good deal.
Half off is better than nothing off and they also got me contracts with other sponsors that are giving me shiat for free. It's really not that bad if you know how to play the system.
Shiat they were willing to offer me $7000 cash to do at will with my car to show up to Hot Import Nights, I said screw it my car looks like a beater and it would take more than 7 grand to pimp my ride.
It's just about performance for me......
I don't know i called them after i got my paper work from them, some lady answered she was rude as hell. I spent $6grand on my car and still adding on stuff. I'm gonna stick to sponsoring myself.

Sorry to hear about that man. Didn't know that your representative was giving you a hard time. Sometimes people like ridin' solo, thats cool. It just cost bank when it comes to taking days off work for events. Thats the only reason why I care for a sponsor. Other than that, I do hate having to use certain products that in my mind can be pretty crappy, but then again that comes with the sponsor.

You basically did more work to get your sponsorship.

A couple of my friends tried to jump on the band wagon and they didn't get accepted and they didn't have to pay the fee either.
I dont know.

I have a couple of sponsors like Bomex, Rotora, 5zigen, Bride to name a few, I dont have to pay any fees.

BTW how did u get sponsored Bomex? and by who if u dont mine me askin
I just started out sponsoring myself. Before I used to pay retail because I didnt trust import shops because of the horror stories ive heard. I go directly to the manufacturer not the dealers.

Then I started going to car shows, meet people, introduced to company higher ups, then introduced to a couple more company higher ups. That was with my other car, not with my 240.

Now I'm reaping what I planted. People think that I spent tons of money on my 240, BUT its nice to know ALOT of the right people

If anybody wants partial sponsorships with no fees email this person c2autospl@yahoo.com.

Carsponsorships.com and the like are business's that makes money off dumb people that don't understand how a real sponsorship works. They are still making money selling parts through these 50/50, 45/55 deals. There business is finding customers for there partners.

Reality is if your serious about your car, show or race, you are gonna have to pay out of pocket for the first one at least. You pay your dues, show your talent, meet people, then hopefully the right people notice and want to associate there company with you. Your good name and history is what they want in exchange for the parts, services, or cash.

Bottom line the is no such thing as a free lunch.

Actually I'm not dumb, and I didn't mind spending the $89.00 FEE. I do make alot of money a year, $89.00 means nothing.
I'm doing it to build a portfolio with other sponsors, if you don't have anything to show for, it is a good way to start.
All it is about is building a Network, obviously you don't have very many sponsors to understand this yourself.
As for the 50/50 and 45/55 contracts, they tried that B.S with me a few times, I decline if it looks like a contract where they are trying to punish me for not selling there product enough, kinda of like the CRAP contract they wanted me to sign with "Blaupunkt", I know they hand that contract out to everybody that goes through the online application. Worst contract and I declined, if it's somethin you don't like, don't sign it, it's that simple.
Yes i will agree though no such thing as a free lunch.

Sponsors are good man, its not always about money or a part. Its about building relationships with people who are in the loop. I have 3 sponsors for my group and one personal for my self. Just recently i found out that my team ( which has only been around for about a year officialy) and I will possibly be on tv ( www.urbancustomstv.com) so dont go into a sponsorship expecting big things off top. I helped one of my sponsors find a nissan motor ( FF Sr20 ) and man he was so damn happy he gave us freee shop time for like a week. Its just the lil things you know. Most guys said it already , its all about paying dues man if u are really into this culture u will have to meet people half way untill they realize that u are a good investment.
