major suckage, dude. what these guys are saying makes sense. see if u can offer an explanation and go w/a lesser charge. still, if u can afford it, grab a liar, uh, lawyer anyway.

I don't know about that Prayer for Judgement thing....but if a lawyer isn't in the cards.....

Providing you didn't tell the ticketing officer anything to the contrary:

I'd say you thought an empty parking lot was a safe and legal spot to practice driving in.

Since you are from NC snow and ice is a big factor and you could explain you heard horror stories about people with RWD cars losing control and you wanted to make sure if you did you'd lessen the chance anyone got hurt.

You want to justify but don't want to sound too farfetched. In this case 'honesty' = I wanted to learn to drift and just is not going to be helpful.

Good luck

cops come and try and ****** my crops! I am a police officer, and a drifter. I catch people all the time and tell them better places to go where they wont draw un-wanted attention. I think the learning how to handle a rear drive car in the elements is your best defense, get a lawyer, and hope the cop doesn't show up to court! Good luck!

When drifting in parking lots you need to use PRIVATE lots. The Post Office is NOT private. Sorry dude. That sucks.

the PUBLIC tends to go there alot

Some malls are private, but many are actually owned by the city and leased to the mall owners. CHurchs are private...most businesses are private. The only thing the could really pop you for would be trespassing but the catch there would be that the owner would have to press the charges. Otherwise the cops would only be able to run you off. If they give you too much crap get an attorney. You would be victorious (after you pay the attorney).

ok.... update time..... I have my liscense, registration and car back. I still have a court date. Not for quite some time. And by the way, doc... ....yes the sr is done. I never really drove the car with the ka. Clutch slips really bad. I need a clutch before i turn the boost up. I have been talking with enjuku racing quite a bit about their 21psi 393 whp turbo upgrade kit for the sr and sounds interesting. If i have no car for a while i will work my a$$ off and try to bring in some ca$h. I will let you know how that goes. But yes. getting arrested for a little tire burning sux ***. I think i want to avoid the cost of hiring a liar, but i will work up a defense to try to get a lesser charge so i can keep driving.
