Bad Oil Leak

So i havent been driving my car lately mainly because i am too lazy to wake up early enough to let it warm up in the cold mornings before i got to work. but the other day i was tryin to hook up a oil filter sandwhich plate and noticed that my shiny new block was black

so i look under the car and noticed that everything was black and oily everywhere. i dont no where the leak is but it is under the intake manifold by the oil filter. any ideas???

thanks

front oil seal or valve cover gasket would be my guess.

nah the front main seal wouldnt get the intake manifold dirty with oil its probably your valve cover gasket they are cheap and real easy to replace

so i looked alittle harder today and noticed that a sensor of some sort was hanging out alittle bit and im pretty sure this is where the leak is. the sensor is right next to the oil filter. what sensor is this and how did it come out?

thanks

that's your oil pressure sensor.

no.

it could have been lose and fell off or the threads on the sensor or engine are stripped. that's the worst case scenario though, just make sure the threads are still good and put it back on but don't over tighten it.
