also someone mentioned something about the battery giving off gasses? which in a hatch might be a problem, anyone know anything else about that?

I dont have any info at all, but I can tell you this...you do NOT need a kill switch for your car. I have my battery in my trunk, and there is no kill switch at all.

if you relocate your battery, you need a switch for SCCA or any racing organization to approve it, its a safety thing so they can shut it off if there is a fire. goes for front batteries too, you're supposed to have a switch to race.

and if you have a dry cell, no gases. if you use a wet battery, it can leak, so you buy a battery box, which is sealed, and has a venting port that runs outside the car.

check me on the SCCA thing, but I'm pretty sure thats right...

NHRA, SCCA, CNN, WTC, QWRG, WREGSDVF34, 243RWECW, LOL require a kill switch, just because of fire emergencies.

isn't Solo 2 Sanctioned by the SCCA?... they seem to follow the guidelines, and I've never heard of a switch for Solo 2 either.

If you are going to relocate your battery get a gel type like Optima's....it's not worth the risk putting a gaseous acid filled battery in a car's cabin.
