That's pretty much what I did except my piping was from OBX, even sold the filter that came with the intake for what my K&N cost so I broke super even.

just put a cone filter on the factory intake tube, you arent going to see much performance gain with just an air intake anyhow.

In order to get the full effect of the air intake system you need to modify the exhaust as well to increase flow from intake/exhaust.

I bought an AEM intake, and it works great 50 state street legal/smogable.

My car came with an offbrand and I just got it a Dryflow air filter with an AEM sticker. The sticker alone gave me like 15hp.

in my car the drop in k&n filter still seemed to restrict air flow compared to the cone filter.

Man, When i first Became a member of this site, and asked that question. I Got Yelled at by everyone. "USE YOUR SEARCH BUTTON""THIS TOPIC HAS BEEN COVERD BEFORE" blah blah blah and so forth. But they must like you or something. I Was thinking about buying the injen Short Ram w/ the cold air extension. The only draw back to have the cold air is that if it rains and you drive through puddles. You Can Mess Some stuff up Bad. So i would go with the injen Short Ram. But thats just my opinion. What do i know. I'm not a mod or anything.

I bought a AEM short ram couple days ago and the damn thing wouldnt fit cause I got to much around the motor which is why I need the full intake. I really want iceman but i dont think they make for 240's or their out of business cause I cant find their site anywhere on google.
