Brake lights stuck on

I cant figure this out. I was backing up into my buddies driveway I put on the brakes and the lights stayed on. I tried everything but i cant figure it out. I can see the two switches in front of the pedal but i cant find the brake light switch to see if it is stuck on. It probablly is but, I cant find it. Has this happen to anybody if so what did you do to fix it. Also where is the brake light switch?

p.s. my car is no longer for sale, thanks for the interest.

wont the brake indicator in the dash come on if the fluid is too low? I've never heard of the brake lights staying on if the fluiud is low.

I just recently had this problem. There is a rubber stopper behind the brake pedal that rots and falls out over time. It cost $3+tax at the Nissan dealer. Part number I have on my receipt for it is #46584-S0100. DO NOT get the universal ones they sell at the autoparts store. They dont fit just right, and fall out. Even after modifying it, so save yourself the trouble and go to Nissan.

Tailights?

If your tailights are staying on then the switch on the brake pedal is sticking or bad. When you push your brake pedal in it activates a small switch which makes your brake lights come on.

Mine have the same problem. Like GNNR said, the little stopper behind the switch falls apart and the switch stays open all the time.

Seen this one a lot - it's the rubber stopper on the brake pedal that's missing. If not then I bet you have a melted socket in your taillights somewhere crossing over.

It should go off if i push in the switch by hand but i did and they stayed on. I will have to check the tsillights to see if i have a melted socket. However it is kind of hard to do it right now cause the car is in massachusetts and im in ny.

There are two switches I believe, make sure you are pushing the right one. I had a buddy install my rubber stopper, its difficult to get under there.

I know there is the ascd switch and the brake light switch. I pushed in both of the and nothing.

p.s. What does a.s.c.d. mean and what does it do?
