check the feb or march issue of turbo magazine. they have numbers that show a ka24de-t vs a stock sr20det.... the ka24de-t has mor hp and tq at the wheels than a sr20det. It is a kit that is avalible throught greddy i believe.

I would like to elaborate a bit more on this KA-T vs. stock SR.

Stock SR Turbo is a T2530 and is rated at about 300ps = 210 HP@ 7lbs.
Greddy KA-T is a TDO6SH-20G and is rated at 400ps = 250HP @ 7lbs.

So if you actually put a comparable Turbo on the SR and the KA... say the HKS GT-RS (rated at 400ps)... what is the end result?!? The SR wins because the GT-RS puts down more ponies than the KA could ever handle... 400ps turbo that only puts down 250HP is lame... for $3500 you could have an S15 SR @250HP.
KA can not hold boost... go ahead and learn the hard way... i'll get the popcorn!!

hahahah thats funny, the KA can hold plenty of boost, there are ppl pushing 15psi on there stock bottom ends all day long, ive even seen a guy pushin 18psi(not daily though) on his!! it is possible as long as u tune it right!!

the GReddy kit is retarded, thats y u build ur own, i am in the prosess of doing that and have spent a total of $500 with a now motor( i havent paid for the piping yet as its from my friend, i still need an i/c core and i got the turbo from another friend for free ) so it is quite possible to build a turbo kit for the KA for much cheaper than an SR and still have better performance!! i will be running a stock 2g GSX turbo and i plan on running my buddies when they get there SR's so we will see whose faster!!! lol and if they win ill just rebuild the bottom end and say that for the same price i can have a faster car lol

I'm sure if they wanted to elaborate more, this thread would have gone on. But since it's been dead for 4 1/2 months. I'm sure no one cares. I hope you have alot ofpopccorn you may be here awhile.

Just a question. How do you know a KA cant handle boost? Did you have one that failed? Perhaps is was bad tuning on your part.

Just so you know. Any engine IF built properly can handle boost. Now try & argue that point.

you idiots... get over the fact that I said the KA can't handle boost and look at the #s.

This has nothing to do with my personal experience with the KA or the SR. Yes, a built engine can handle what its built for, and the KA is built for N/A, not boost. I'm not jocking anyone for having a KA-T, so get over yourself. I also know that Built Properly means $$$, not freebie parts and a shop class.

I just found this thread after doing a Seach... it doesn't matter if its 2 months or 2 years.... its information.
