Camera Mount

I finally got around to editing together a little "promo" video about the Suctapus, a suction cup camera mount system I built. Check it out:

Very nice man!
I hope you have a patent for that. Sure makes mounting stuff A LOT easier.

Good luck on your proprietorship.

Too obvious to patent... Fortunately, I don't intend to make a living off of making them. I built the first one mostly because I wanted a mount for myself and the ones I found for sale online were either way more than I needed (and cost several hundred dollars) or seemed like overpriced toys.

As for price, let's call it $50 plus shipping. That gets you a 2-pad Suctapus like the one in the pictures, complete with a Bogen 3025 tripod head (which is worth $30 by itself, and can be used separately on any quality tripod with 1/4-20 threads).

I also can make a 4-pad version for $60, or if you want the extra-heavy-duty aluminum-frame 2-pad Sucktapus (which looks just like the one in the pictures, but the orange composite frame is replaced with cast aluminum) would also be $60.

A complete kit with 1 two-pad base, 1 four-pad base, and 1 Bogen 3025 head will be $85.

If you already have a tripod head that accepts a 1/4-20 thread, I'll also sell the bases separately. $25 for the 2-pad composite, $35 for a 4-pad or the 2-pad aluminum.

How's that for options! :-P

Here's another video - this time on the side of a late-model Mustang doing a burnout in the parking lot at work...

$5.50 via USPS, or if you happen to be in the Santa Ana area, you can pick it up and save yourself a couple bucks.

Cool!

You should put something over the microphone to cut down on wind, though.

It was just a regular Sony camcorder with that built in mic. I put a piece of tape over it, but it didn't help too much.

I don't have that camera anymore, but the next one I get I'll have to get an external mic with one of those big foam things to cut down on it.
