car problems it reaks of fuel

okay so it doesnt seem to leak there is no signs of leak at least visible i.e. no drips on the pavement, but in my garage the smell is very noticable because of enclosed space. Yes the smell comes from under the wheel weld gas tank side, but not from the gas cap area. I opened the gas tank and there is still good amount of pressure too, but i dont noe much bout cars i just really like the s14, so i don't even know if that means anything other than pressure is still in the gas tank. I'd like to know what the possibilities are, how to go about getting it fixed and such. Thanks

it means you may have a damaged vent hose.

make sure your gastank is not cracked. ive had 2 s14 with cracked gastanks. its not hard to replace but it would be a ***** to do it at home im lucky enough that i did it at a shop with a lift and a transmission jack to drop the subframe
