Cooling Issue

hey everyone, I am having an issue with my radiator/cooling system recently. I am noticing that a little coolant is seeping out of the upper rad hose. Before I go around throwing money around, do you think this would be ideal to fix my problem?

Here's a pic:

What else could this problem be from?

where exactly is the leak? the problem may not bet the hose, but the radiator.

The leak is coming right from where the upper rad hose connects to the motor. Sorry, I am not the greatest with terminology. Looks like it is seeping out the littlest bit.

Any ideas on a fix? I am not going to mess with OEM hoses anymore after this.

Is it staying cool? How long has the hose been on there? If its leaking bad, then I would go ahead and get another hose. If not I would cut off a little on the end and reclamp it.

check to see if the radiator itself is not cracked.

Checked the radiator today, no leaks, no drips anywhere near the rad.

jbt 92, that's a good idea about cutting the hose and re-clamping. However, the hole looks to be the size of a pin hole about an inch away from where the hose clamps (don't ask me how that happened), and the coolant is ever so slowly seeping out of it. It's like a gooey, curdled green type substance. lol

I'll probably go ahead and order the mishimoto silicone hoses. I have heard some good things about them after searching through google. This should fix my problem once and for all! I'll post an update once I receive the hose set up and have it installed.

Ooor does he have the opposite problem of me and have too much coolant and not enough water?>he said its gooey curdled and green? maybe not 50/50?

get high pressure lines, and/or drain it all and re fill 50/50

Back in the day (almost 5 years ago) I picked up a generic set of radiator hoses for the SR, with SR radiator. Still running those. Just saying this because there is no need to drop double or three times the money for "name brand" radiator hoses.

They just go bad and generally go bad at the worst time. Just go down and spend 9.99 on a generic KA hose (AutoZone Part # M-563) and see if it fixes it. If it does you can always spring for the 150 dollar set of Mishimoto ones.

That may be a possibility (the mixture of coolant to water ratio being off), but I still need to replace the hose. When I do, it'll be changed with 50/50 pre-diluted. I'll definitely check into some high pressure lines.

Well, I like to fix things by upgrading them. The OEM part failed? Cool, I'll go for an upgrade now. I understand your logic, but if I plan on upgrading eventually, why not now?

Never had "upgraded" rad hose... I race and never exploded any.
