God i am so pissed right now. I went to the mall to pick something up really quick. Anyway as I'm walking back to my car I notice wsomething weird on my CF hood as I get closer I see that the clear coat is cracked. I think that someone at the mall leaned on it and caused it to crack. The crack itself is like 11" right above where the grill is. So what should I do in this situation? Also I might sell it to get a new one what do you guys think?

I don't think you can do anything. Is it a cheap brand?

If it's for a 95 or 96, i'd consider buying it if you want to sell. If so, let me know. Busy20yo@yahoo.com

thanks!

no its for a 97 and it is a genuine Vis cf hood. I think that selling it is my only option at this point.

no. Insurance won't do any good. The deductible is prob. more than the hood.

even if not, it's just not worth the hassle/premiums.

is it hard to break carbon fiber? you said someone might have leaned on it, but wouldn't it take a lot more force?

Would you be able to sand down the clear coat and re do it? Or is there a crease in the carbon fiber?

sounds like it's time to fix it & paint it. Needs to be protected from the UV anyway.
