s14 sr20det, i think comes with the t-28 turbo instead of the t-25 on the s13 sr20det and the variable timing thing.

If your talking about stock ka motors..there isnt any change..unless your going from a ka24e motor to ka24de. ka24e is obviously sohc and lower hp and torque to the dohc ka24de.

you ought to search next time for this stuff... http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/tech/0205scc_silvia/

scroll to the bottom and there is a list of the early to late sr20det and what they have changed in each one ..

I also heard that tye 91 KA has diff cams and such that a lot of people are looking for. I forgot the reason, but I think it's good. Look around.

only 91?
89-90 has the Ka24e 12V that people like takin out the Crank and pistons and putting in there Ka24DE for more torque, compression, and Etc...

91 was the first year that they put the 16V DOHC in the 240's though, so that might be what you are talkin about.

S13 designates a chassis, not an engine. The S13 is the USDM Nissan 240sx from 89-94. Now, there are 3 different engines.. A 140hp SOHC KA24E from 1989-1990. In 1991, they came with a 155hp, 160lb/ft of torque KA24DE. Now, the cams that everyone wants are the same from 1991 on into part of the production year of 1993. In 1995 they did change the engine slightly. They put a different head on it and tuned down the cams a bit. Also, they put a different alternator on it. In 1996, they changed some emissions equipment and made the engine OBD-II compliant. That means, they changed a lot of the sensors and MORE vacuum lines.

The engines from 91+ are all interchangeable with little-no modifications...

Any questions?

This thread reads almost like a 3rd grade english class(edit..with exception of above post)...LOL
sr20detS13 S14, blah blah..
I'm sure he has absolutely no clue what that means. I didnt see where he asked about JDM Tyte Yo motors.
If you mention something that isnt offered in the american version. PLEASE explain to them what it is.
You know the difference between the S13 & S14 so I wont go into that..maybe
The S13 isnt a engine it's the chassis code.

Here is a quick run down
KA24e= 2.4L SOHC( single overhead cam) 12 valve
They had these in the 89-90 240sx's
Ka24DE=2.4L DOHC( dual overhead cam) the D...stands for dual. Was in the rest of the 240sx line up from 1991-up.

They are virtually identical from 91-95. Then they switched to OBDI(on board diagnostics-II) in 1996( BUT some 1995 would have rolled off the line with OBDII), so the sensors & wiring are different.

So to awnser your question. A KA24de from 91-95ish(pending when it was made) will drop right in & off you go.

EDIT:::amn I need to type faster.

Alright, I think I got it, as you can tell im new to 240's. So the, lets say, "s15" is to a late model 240sx, as a "R-34 is to a late model Skyline?

Well, I hate to inform you, you're wrong again. The S15 was only sold in Japan as a Nissan Silvia. There is no such thing as an S15 240sx.

So it was, ka24e SOHC 2.4L 12v 140hp single overhead cams 1989-1990 (first-generation motor), and then later models,
1991-1998 KA24DE DOHC 2.4L dual overhead cams155hp (mid-generation motor with not much difference in them. I see now the "S" motors were used in the Silvias. But what I was asking was would a s13 be any diff. from a s14, because I would like to swap? And what kind of turbo did a s15 have?
