As many of you are aware, there is going to be a huge drift show October 12th at Irwindale Speedway. There are going to be some crazy fast cars in that contest!

FALKEN TIRE DRIFT SHOWOFF FINALS SET FOR IRWINDALE SPEEDWAY
The October 12th event will feature some of the top Japanese professionals and US drivers.

Los Angeles, CA (October 6, 2003) Things are heating up as the Falken Tire Drift Showoff heads to Irwindale Speedway for the 2003 Championship finals. The talent level of the US drivers has improved by leaps and bounds this past year so let’s see who will step it up for the finals. This event will feature the return of Falken Team drivers Yoshinori Koguchi and Seigou Yamamoto and their new Nisaan 180sx and S14 Silvia. Also on hand will be Team Rotora US D1 drivers Ernie Fixmer and Ken Gushi as well as members of the Drift Xtreme team getting sideways for the crowd.
The event will feature:
Intermediate/Advance Drift Run Groups
Here is your chance to interact with Japanese top drivers. Professional D1 drivers will be on hand to give tips and pointers prior to the main event for intermediate and advance skill level drivers only.
Drifting Exhibition
Watch Team Falken, Drift Xtreme and Team Rotora drivers get sideways tearing up the drift course in a jam session-styled format. With their choreographed drift show, you never know what you are going to see.
Pro/Am Drift Competition
Those in the intermediate/advance drift run groups will battle it out for the chance to compete against the visiting Japanese professionals.

Competitive Drifting Experience: 10 years
Vehicle: 1991 Nissan 180SX
Background:
Koguchi's driving career began as a grass roots racer who loved to test his skill and vehicles performance in mountain areas. During that time, Koguchi learned drifting and refined his drifting style. He gets pumped up from the crowd and watching him perform is 100% excitement.

Driver: Seigou Yamamoto
Competitive Drifting Experience: 4 years

Background:
Yamamoto began as a traditional circuit course racer, but has opted to change his focus and put all efforts into drifting. Seeing the excitement in the audience and truly loving the drift lifestyle was enough to trigger Yamamoto's racing career change.

Vehicle: S13 Silvia w/ Truck Conversion
Background: Kumakubo is one of the leaders for the Drift Xtreme team. They feature a choreographed Drift show that will amaze the audience with their controlled mayhem. With his S13 truck conversion, he is currently one of the top drifters in Japan.

Currently second overall points leader in the 2003 season.
Driver: Yasuyuki Kazama
Competitive Drifting Experience: 16 years
Vehicle: S15 Silvia
Background: Kazama is a test driver and employee of Kei Office in Nagano, Japan. Like most drifters, his career started in the mountains but today, you will find him on the circuit attending events, doing testing and promotion for Kei Office on a daily basis.

Self-taught in drifting during his military days in Okinawa and refined his drifting style back in the US, 26 year-old Ernie Fixmer is considered the first American to stand toe-to-toe against the best Japanese D1 circuit drivers. With his S13 (S15 front mount conversion), Ernie Fixmer is currently one of the top drifters In the US.
