Drive trouble can it be the spark cables
Drive trouble can it be the spark cables
Ok well today i bought new spark plugs and before i changed the plugs the car would turn on but i had to rev a little for it to turn on complety .. but in the process of changin the spark plugs i found 2 of the spark cables are broken that the plug wasnt even gettin juice.. so wat im wonderin is can that be y its not stayin on while in drive?? (like i put it into drive and it starts to shake alot and starts tryna shut off) or should i still get the maf checked...
dude if you see ANY sign of breakage in the wires. get them out of there.. electrical current will find any way out and you will arc off the valve cover.. and your car will run like a lawnmower
I mean the cable itself isnt broken im talkin about the part that connects to the spark plug is broken inside the "boot".. and i also want to kno if i try start to start the car with only 2 spark plugs would it 1 turn on and 2 mess it up in any way??
back on topic... if any cylinder is not sparking then yeah it will run like ***. every autotragic i have driven when you put it in drive the rpms drop. but with cylinders not sparking it gets to that point where centripetal acceleration of the crankshaft slows down...(in english: the engine is turning to slow to continue to rotate).
Don't diss the autotragic trannies!
... I have yet to convert the 'vert to a stick. lol.
Anyway, go ahead and replace the wires. They're not expensive, and any kind of wear and tear could lead to bigger problems. Also, clean the IACV and run some seafoam through the car. Also, change the o2 sensor. Between the IACV and o2 sensor I have noticed a drastic change in the way my car runs.
A word of caution though; buy an o2 sensor socket... our cars DEFINATELY need it or you'll be spending a lot longer than needed changing it. It takes like 5 mins to do with the socket.
