Drove a 91 today

Ok as you can see in my profile I drive 1990 240sx, OK first off this was pretty kool cuz im 15 turning 16, my friend found a base model no power ne thing 240sx for 1000, and he didnt know how to drive stick so I drove it for him to find out whats up.First off when I turned it on then I noticed it made skeeky noise when you start it ( assuming its the starter ) but he thinks its the brakes lol. I drove this car and the clutch was alot easier feeling and it shifted a little smoother, but this thing looked like it was abused a little and it had 50k more miles than mine, Why did it feel so much different. Can I achieve smoother shifts by buying synthetic tranny fluid. Thanks
Ryan
O yea I relize this is a different engine and tranny

refill the tranny with redline tranny fluid, people swear by it, it'll help like no other can.

Redline tranny fluid would run you ~40, but like I said, many people said it's the best investment they've made, really helps a lot.
when I do my 5 speed swap thats whats going in my car.

I've never seen an auto store sell it, i'm actually looking where to buy it online myself. I wanna buy it bulk and split it with someone local, lol. I'm gonna look, let me know if you find someone selling it online cheap!

That squeaky noise when you start the car...if it's like a brief screech, it's a belt.

you'll have to define skeeky noise on the startup, areitu's probably right about the belts, losing grip when they first start possibly. But give us a little more into and we can try to help.

Well, best thing to do is just replace the belts since they're probably slipping from being dry and brittle. I'd pop the hood and start the car and try to figure out where the screech is coming from. Most likely, it's going to be squeaking from the alternator, power steering or fan belt.
