EGR Question

When you remove the EGR, does it throw a CEL?
Also, is it worth it, does it really free up power?
And last, where can i get a block off plate?

Any info appreciated. Thanks

EBay last time I checked. I think it is the same guy that makes the central vent gauge pod.

do wut i did

un bolt both ends of the egr pipe...and block em with nickles (as in a 5 cents) the fit nice and snug on each end, then just rebolt the ends...u can just hack off the rest of the pipe

no recirculating exaust for u...

and i do thin itll throw a cell...obviously i would assume

true
mainly reason i did it for mine cuz i was swapping a DOHC from 95 into my bay.. just gave a lil more room to work with nothing more

ur car will take a bit longer to warm up since ur not recirculating hot air thouhg
just a thought if u live in cold weather

I have my EGR blocked off with a plate, it will throw a code unless you solder resistors into the circuit to trick the ECU into thinking everything is fine. I had a hard time finding a block off plate, bought one off a forum from some guy for $20 then had my friend make a few extra with the plasma cutter at his work. PM me if you want one I'd be happy to sell one to ya for cheap. Oh and it gives a dynoed 8hp in the top end on the s14... I definantly noticed a bit more HP on the top end and TQ throughout the mid range and top. You'll want to have some way of tuning your fuel if you do this though as it will make you run way rich on the bottom end. I'm running about -8% to -13% with an SAFC2 and I have intake, header, high flow cat and cat back. Hope this helps!
