when i accelerate in 1st i can hear the fan running really hard is this normal?

 

yes it is the clutch fan totaly normal, when i had mine in it sounded like a UPS truck.

 

yeah.. definate fan clutch..

heres a test:
with the car OFF.. see if you could turn the fan by hand.. if its purdy easy to turn.. then its aight.. if its very difficult or it doesnt turn at all.. you'll need to replace it whenever you can..

 

lol yea when my fan clutch went out on the way to a cruise it sounded like a beast! but thats what it is, mine only messed up for like a day though and hasnt done it since i think it was just was from all the highway drivin i did.
