Fiberglass Fender Fitting S15 Conversion *need solutions to lower the edge*

Ok, so I am doing the s15 conversion to the front of my 95 240, The car had some front end damage when i bought it so i decided to upgrade the front to the S15 style since it had to be replaced anyways. Well i was putting the fenders up on the car the otherday just to get some motovation to finish this project and luckly the fit was pretty good. However, the top mounting ridge is way to high. It doesnt sit anywhere near flush with the top of the inner fender, the fiberglass mounting tabs are almost at a 45 degree angle when compaired to the flat surface they need to mount to. I was wondering if others have come across this, and what they have done. I was thinking of cutting the edge at the bend then refiberglassing it where I needed it to be. I was wondering if anyone had any simpler/easier solutions that they have tried or would just recomend? Thanks! I'll be posting some pics as I get closer to the finish line!

i pm'd him, but i think he just used washers, and i'm afraid my hood then wouldnt sit right, that it would sit too high.... hmm.... maybe his was less severe of an angle, guess i'll just have to wait to hear back from the guy

^ right he used washers. its up to you. either washers or fiberglass like you mentioned above. it all depends on the quality of the kit. i know a guy that wanted to throw his fenders in the trash (thats how bad the conversion fenders were made). but he struggled and finally got them to fit right. its all up to you.

can you bend fiberglass? Like with a heat gun on the edges would it be possible to reshape the angle? I had built some speaker boxes out of fiberglass before, and i remember that if left it in the sun the glass would seem less stiff, so I was thinking maybe with a heat gun and a little manipulation it might work. Just a thought, does anyone know?
