front o2 sensor question

Could a bad front o2 sensor be the reason why I'm smelling gas from my 95' 240sx in my garage? My check engine is on and Nissan diagnosed it as the front o2 sensor. I've got 144k on my 240sx. I smell the gas when I'm in the garage about to get into the car.

Thanks for any help!

check for leaking fuel system parts... the o2 sensor being bad would be my last thing checked... the o2 sensor moniters burnt and un burned fuel in the exhaust system... but to get a fuel smell out of it you would be dumping raw fuel into the exhaust... check for fuel leaks on top of the motor and around the fuel lines first... it does not take a big leak to make one hell of a smell... if it is not leaking bad the smell might go away while driving...
