Gauge Swaps

I'm wanting to switch out my standard cluster with after market mechanical gauges in my 89 240sx. has anyone done this successfully and put in a speedometer cable for the mechanical gauges. Seeing as this car normally uses electronic speed sensors, i need either an adapter or a speedometer cable built for this car. If anyone knows where i can get either of these, please respond.

well its a bad idea because you are not suppose to mount liquid mechanical gauges inside of a car..

yes if you wanted to run a mechanical speedo.. you would have to do some googling because no one does that.. the signal is electronic.. and mechanical speedo has a cable that runs from the tranny to the back of the cluster.. your best bet would be to look up old nissans that use a cable but has a transmission speed sender thats a style like the KA.

if its the vintage look that you want, they have vintage electronic gauges.

the vintage look is one i was looking for, however the exact gauge style i found does not offer an electronic speedo thats i've seen so far, its the iequus 7000 chrome series. hum...this might be fun, i'm currently seeing if i can have a shop custom make me one, i'll post any results from that. any other info will be appreciated.

the mk2 s12's (1986 and after) used the same C trannies as the KA and had a mechanical cable. You can try sourcing one from those
