Bought mine in AZ.. yeah you have to get it smogged, plus don't forget CA charges a retarded tax too... my car was bought for $4000, and I had to pay CA tax of $430.

note: Make sure the car has BOTH catalytic and pre-cat under the car (didn't know there was two myself until I had the car prepped for smog).

 

im looking at s13's actually, did those have have the pre-catalytic converters too? weren't those before OBDII?

 

Not sure about the S13 configuration, but I am sure about how DMV handles ANY out of state car.

Out of state car? Pay tax, pass smog, get inspected.

Just keep that in mind... you might be able to slide from the CA tax is the seller puts down that you already paid tax in the selling state... don't know how you'd explain that to the IRS though
