if you are looking for a track car or an event car of any kind I would say no, as you are going to rip that transmission out, and a lot of work all over the car and try to get rid of as much weight as possible. Therefor having an impeccable car is not as great as a really cheap example of the model that runs. If you are looking for a DD or just a good example of 240's I would say yeah, but talk her down some.

if you do buy this car, please keep it garage kept and stock. dont ricer it up. its sexy the way it is. i agree with kaiser, 5 grand is a bit much. kaiser spoke the absolute truth and is wise.

Yeah price is kinda my issue now, i KNOW the car is not worth 5000.... not even close, and doing a auto-man swap isn't TOO far out of my mind...

what are you wanting to do with the car? That would help us tell you if it is a good buy or not.

Yeah what these guy's said. I never understood why people want super mint low mileage auto drift cars. If it was a manual and only had 18000 then hell yeah. But in all honesty after the swap you will probably have a 100k to 200+k mile tranny and or engine in the car so the only things that have 18000 after that is the chassis and it's relative parts (bushings, maybe bearings if they havent been replaced, bolts, electrical, etc). Most of that stuff can go for much longer than an engine or transmission. I say dont do it. You can get a 240 with an sr swap already done for 5k. Or buy a rolling shell for like 500-1k and use the rest to do as you please. 4k is enough to have a pretty decent setup.

But then again it all depends on what you want from the car. Unless you are a grandma who just needs a cheap daily then no.

yeah, i mean for 5 grand you can get a clean 88 5 series, so if you are looking for a 240sx get that price down or keep looking.

see for less than 5k you could get this, http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/car/636250040.html
I don't know if that is anywhere near you, but thats more what you are looking for, or a 5sp for like 1-2 grand that you can just put parts money into it.

that guy is mental its not worth 5 grand idc if it is in mint condition if it only has 18000 on it oh well if u want to use it right u will need a 5sp cause they are better and after that you will end up bassically paying 5 grand for a clean body bought both my cars that ran when i got em for under 800 i have a 1991 and 1995 240sx both pretty clean bodies (hard to find no rust in wisconsin) but what im saying is if u do any racing which it sound sliek you wanna do u gotta replace suspension engine mods and what not and all u got out of the 5 grand is a body with no rust

auto to manual swaps cost too much. not just for the tranny (or full engine swap) but youre also gonna have to put in a clutch pedal and shifter.

for 3K yeh. but if I were to buy that, I'd be broke and stuck with an auto for a while. not to say its not a upgrade from an old RL
