Talking Good deal on this s13?

Well, my emissions inspector/friend/coworker has this s13 project hes been working on. So far, from what he says, he has shaved door handles and brand new interior and some other nice bodywork (dont really know, havent seen the car) Its a (ka24de) fastback 5 speed with short shifter, strut bars, intake, blah blah blah basic mods. He says he has rebuilt the motor but I dont really know about the transmission ,so that rebuilt engine kinda helps skip the process along so i can prep it for turbo charging. I haven't test drove it yet, but im going to soon..

He says he will have all the bodywork done and new paintjob and will sell it to me for 4500....as is (non painted, all this other unfinished welding and stuff) for 3500. You think this is a good deal?

Well, since this is a rebuilt motor, and plus basically making the thing brand new inside and out, i think it sounds pretty reasonable (this is a emissions inspector/backup ase tech/friend that is selling me this, i dont think hes trying to rip me off, hes been trying to sell this car for a while) (hes also a 240sx junky ).

i know you can buy some junkyard 240sx for like 300 bucks with rust and ****ed up body and a pretty good used motor for like 400 or so..but still..the fact that i dont want to deal with a scrap car from the ground up..i wanna get a step ahead and be ready for turbo charging which is my dream and goal.

i have 3000 so far and im going to save till sept. (he should still have the car)(reason why is because i want to buy a car after my restricted license is over) and ill have about 9000 dollars or so.

Give me a straight forward opinion about this deal if its worth it or not ..

Sounds alright, but make sure you really look @ the car before you buy it.

Sounds like a pretty good deal, mostly because its a rebuilt engine and is basically brand new. Also the basically new interior. Test drive the car, look at EVERYTHING.

sounds too good to be true, I"m jealous, but like everyone else before me said, take a good look around the car and inside the car, and most of test drive!! people normally forget to drive it first, crazy i knoe, but if everything is legit and in good working order, CONGRATS!! you just got a killer car ^_^

ahhhh..so i finally looked at it and test drove..

1st. He said it was a ka24de ...it wasnt..it was a ka24e (bleh)

2nd. I see the car for the first time ever...it is super super riced out ..he has a eburni or whatever shogun kit on it molded and some really giagantic wing on it molded as well. And some busted up blue ricer fog lights with the wires hanging out of the bumper. Not my taste at all..i kinda starred and choked..

3. I guess it was breakdown in communication or whatever..i dunno, but he says it isnt rebuilt! (im like..omg what!!! what do you mean) Yeah he finally tells me a story that he bought some totaled old 240sx clip and took the engine and swapped it in (around 80k) (i dont trust crashed vehicle engines at all)

4. I take back everything i said about him loool this car is total lemonized (in my eyes)

I think im going to buy the 1997 nissan 240sx le i saw for sale with 55k miles for 4000 bucks ...5speed, all stock ..sounds too good to be true but im going to check that out too

man, Rick...if your reading this ...you let me down really badly lol
You kinda didnt tell me anything accurately. It's alright though ..i still your friend.

Usually around here s14s are like 6000 or so for one with like 100k miles and all this wierd stuff going on. I just hate people that try to sell their car for the most when they know its crap lol not saying that s14s are crap but you know..6000 seems alot for a 7 year old car. But 4000 seems reasonable to me ..still...odd why the price is so low for a car that is somewhat passed the break-in period. (abuse?) I seen pictures of it on cars.com and the car body looks sound.
