My interior hatch release works sometimes, but usually doesn't. I think the cable is stretched out. Does anybody know a good fix for this, besides replacing the entire cable assembly? Thanks.

Take the wing off(if you have one) and it'll solve the problem. I took the wing off my car and now the hatch opens with ease. Other than that.....I dunno how to fix it.

the cable is only going to cost you $10-$15max from a junk yard

Thanks and I know, I was just looking for an easier solution to the problem. I know that this is an option, however if I replace the cable, I may relocate this latch release. I've read that cars with this releases are notorious for break-ins. The crook will break the driver window and release the hatch/trunk and steal any stereo equip. and/or merchandise. I also notice your from Tampa. Do you know of any meets in our area? I'm from the Zephyrhills/Wesley Chapel area.
