having trouble putting into gear! please help
Hello. I just purchased an s13 this past week. The past couple of days, I noticed that I would have to put a little more effort into shifting the car into first gear on a coldstart. Then after a couple of minutes of driving, the gears shifted smoothly.
But today, it just would NOT shift into first. I tried and tried and finally gave up. Any suggestions to what might be wrong?
Transmission? Clutch? Any advice would be appreciated.
thanks,
tristan

one of the curses of owning a 240.
most of the time it helps if you put the car in reverse before you put it in first.
change your transmission fluid. try using redline or any synthetic gear oil.

try just FILLING the fluid up...
my boot is ripped and it sloshes out when i accelerate and brake.
i know the fluid gets low when shifting gets hard and the tranny gets unuasally warm
just pulll the ****er out and fill it up

mine is also starting to stick, takes a heck of alot more effort to shift now, and the pedel seems to have become more limp than normal... i filled the hyro system up but the pedel is still lose and still sticks in gear shifting.

prolly need a new clutch? i had that prollem on a cold start.. changed the clutch and it was good to go.. try putting some wd-40 on the pedal too if it gets stuck sometimes.. spray it on the moving parts and let it sit for 10-15 minutes
