Headlight Problem

Howdy;
I just bought a 1990 240Sx and will be posting a number of questions over the next while.
The headlights are alway open, is this a common problem. Is there an archive section that I can search for answers?
Regards,
Doug

All the way open or partly open at times?

If it is the latter you can blame sleepy eye for that.

I don't think this is a very common problem, so don't worry about that. But it can be easily fixed though. First check your fuses. If those are out and all your electrical connections look good, then you might have a problem with the motors....but if both are failing I doubt it's the motors. Probably a fuse. Also check the obvious solution and check the little head light button on the dash.

Best wishes,
Matt

To add to this, you should always search before asking a question. Because if you can find an answer by yourself, it makes you feel better and it makes us feel better at the same time.

there's a button on the dash to the left of the steering wheel to open or close the headlights, lol. You're gonna feel stupid when you see it, but that'll fix your problem. What else you got?

I hope for his sake that it isn't this simple.

Thanks for the replies;

I will take a look this morning to see if that is the problem. They were always in the open position while I was looking at buying the car so I just assumed there was a problem. Will let you know what I find, and how foolish? I might feel.

Not foolish one bit, you'll kick laugh at yourself for not noticing that, we have all been there, we all learn.

Dr. Nova is right, I had that problem and found the switch...and just helped another friend of mine with the same problem...seems to be a VERY common problem to be honest!

I checked the switch and that is not the problem. I will be getting a Haynes manual as soon as I can, but can anyone tell me which fuse to check, and were is the fuse block located?
Thanx
