Question Help takiing off gauge cluster

Yea I need help taking it off, it seems tha the tilt steering adjust is getting in the way, Keep in mind I did not take the steering wheel off, in the chilton maunual it shows some kind of puller to toake off the steering wheel, can I purchase one at the car parts store and if show how much would it cost? I really need help taking this off, Im getting a new cluster in the mail anyday now.

To take off the steering wheel you do not need a steering wheel puller, it might be easier to do it with the puller but I did it by myself...and Im pretty damn puny. Use a lot of WD 40 and man power

Couldn't you just drop the steering column without messing with taking the steering wheel off? On S14's the cluster will pop out with some trickery, but I remember seeing something on S13's about dropping the column...

If you want to use a puller though, you could go to a store like autozone, you can rent out tools from there

you need to drop the underdash, its like 6 or 8 bolts.

undo the steering column cover that goes over the blinker switch and wiper switch, i think its four screws or bolts.

undo the four bolts from the steering column to the body. undo the back ones first. it'll make it a tad bit easier.

undo the two screws on the cluster bezel, a stubby works best.

and then there are three screws holding in the cluster i believe. one on top middle and two on the bottom side.

and then if yuou still cant get the cluster out...just poke yourself in the eye.

That my friend is the reason why you always leave panels off when you replace stuff, and test drive it for a day or two to make sure everything is working
