How far did you go?

To what extents did you guys (and girls) have to do to get your hands on your 240? Distances traveled? Money paid?

I just showed my dad a picture of the s14 i want, he tells me it's "generic and boring" Maybe he'll think it's slow too, so i can buy one with minimal convincing

Payed $3650 for my s14. $100 for plane ticket to Georgia. And drove 890 miles back home. Tolls and gas, don't remember. I know I filled up 3 times. Drove it in record time.

Well I saw it on autotrader.com like 20 minutes after it was posted. I called the guy the next day, told him i'd go to bank and could be there by the weekend. Went to the bank, got the money, drove 350 miles to Olympia, WA with my dad. Paid $2300 for a 1991 240sx SE hatch with 100k on the car. Completely stock. With a full tank of gas to make it home.

Lets say over-priced, and from one end of my state to the other (VA).

I still love her.

I drove about 10 miles to the next town over on my usual weekend car hunt and my friend spotted the car sticking out from behind a used car dealership. When we went and inspected it, it had a flat tire, wouldn't start, covered in mud from sitting in the dirt for a few months and the floor had about a 1/2 in of water on it. The sketchy dealership guy put in a new starter and it fired up the next day. It was a black 93 hatch with 110k and i loved it until i got T-boned 2 weeks later.

Second car, drove about 35 miles, inspected and bought it in the dark (god have mercy upon your soul if you do this)*. It was about a 50 minute drive and the car leaked a quart of oil every 20 minutes or so because it had a blown oil seal. After a few stops to pour more oil in I got it home. It's a red 93 hatch with 225k not bad for $500 and the drive train from my first s13 is going in next week yay!

* about 3 days ago i found a rust hole just behind the pass. side wheel well about 6 inches long and 3 inches tall. Don't buy cars at night!
