How high would you go?
Here the Delimma. I have a chance to pick up a 93 240 Coupe SE. Car looks great has HUD and all the good stuff that year came with. Big plus. Problem is, the car is not running. Head Gasket is gone and there are a few problems. Guy is asking 3k for it. Kelly says 1850 in fair condition. But cost and demand and all that good stuff. I can easily go to a junk yard and swap the DE for another one. How much would you pay for it.
yeah as everyone said, the guy is outta his ****ing mind. There is no reason the car should cost $3,000 and it dosen't even run.
Honestly, I don't think anyone is stupid enought to drop that kinda dough on something like that.

^^like the vert. be nice if i could find one with the manual swap done. but back on topic. the banker(wifey) just set the cap to 800. Ima talk to dude and see whats up. The thing has been for sale for a while now, so I dont either he doesnt want to get rid of it, or nobody is biting. Ill flash some green and see if I cant land a 240.
just tell it like it is, the car is not worth what he's asking and give him your offer. if he dosen't like it too bad now he's gotta find another sucker.
about 3 monthes ago i went to see a s13 that was in bad shape. it ran strong but other than that and the new 18"s it had nothing going for it. the guy wanted $2400. he told me he had put alot of money into it. i was like really, where? my 240 was in far better condion and i doubt i could get $2k for it.
anyways rather than try to haggle is said fine keep the car. the price later went down to $2k, then he just gave up on selling it. some people think what they have is gold but it's up to the buyer to set the price of what he's willing to pay.

you should pay only what the car is worth TO YOU.
i paid $1100 for mine. and it's in great shape for a 92. only problem it had was a bad distributor, the previous owner didn't know that, so i got it for a steal.
there are 2 240s running around in my town driven by 2 old guys. who don't know what it's worth.
keep searching.
