humming noise

i was using some engine degreaser on the valve cover and i'm not sure if it leaked into theengine. could it be that the engine degreaser has gotten into the engine? if so, what is a sure way of cleaning it?

when i rev the car, the humming comes and there seems to be like a metal clinging noise too. it seems that the car is loosing power when i rev it too.

is the sound coming from the head?
Does it happen after its warmed up?
What speeds? driving or parked? gear?

under acceleration or are you revving it at a standstill?

I honestlly don't think degreeser would do much if anything.
Unless you got like A TON into the engine. Only way it would seep in is a crack or bad gasket, which is still un-likely.

did you spray anything else, with degreser or water or anything? Like wires, your distributer, altenator.

Distributor, Mass Air Meter, are going to be your problems with the revving and loss of power.

Clinking noise is more than likely the timing chain guide.

I think it may be the Mass Air Meter that is causing that humming noise. if it is, is there a way to fix it rather than buying a new one?
