I was thinking once my 240 has lived a good life to swap the proven sound sr20 engine in a poor busted rotory rx7. But I might need to lay off the crack.

I have an '89 FC in my garage, which will eventually receive a 2-liter Dart-block B18 DOHC VTEC.

5 bonus points to anyone who can tell me why it won't work.

15 bonus points to the person who can figure out how I've already solved the big problem.

well I guess the big problem is to find a tranny?

and my other guess is to use the S2000 tranny for B18?

well I don't know much about honda. and I don't think I should be proud if I do........ haha

BTW I think it better to port that rotatry than putting a B18 in any sense. oh well but I guess it's fun to see people do wild stuff

If you think so, I wouldn't waste my time.....

Won't work because it's front wheel drive.

Ooh, so close!

Except the S2000 transmission won't work either, at least not if I don't want six speeds in reverse...

Why would someone waste there time putting an SR into a s2000. The F20 engine makes almost 250CHP in NA, almost comparable to a black top sr.

(I was just asking becoz I'm curious)
I take it "Just for kicks." isn't a good enuff answer for ya, I'm not really knowledgeable to give you much of an arguement here... but I mean how tunable is the F20 engine? Thus far I've seldomly heard of turbo'd S2000~ supercharging seems to be the popular choice. Now the SR on the other hand obviously has plenty of tuning potential... and slidin240 thanx for the pic, hehehe I knew SOMEBODY SOMEHWERE must've done it... most things I can think of have already been done.

The F20 can't be turbo charged it has an 11.3:1 CR. But with a cam upgrade, it pulls about 280CHP, and the s2000 ECU is pretty similar to that of DSM. It can make alot of power without a turbo......

as much as a built SR20det with forged internals and all the goodies? Not to mention the availability of aftermarket support for the SR vs. the F20...? Not picking a fight here, just playing devil's advocate...

HAHAHA
I can see where this is getting......
Honda believe it or not has more after market support than Nissan. Sorry to say but thats the truth, and I build Nissans. As far as SR is concerned it sucks ***** in Natural Aspiration and can Barelly make 200CHP in NA. What put's ***** on the sr is turbo charging. You can build the sr which ever way around turbo charging, but if you make it NA it will always SUCK. The F20/22 doesn't really need alot of after market support in stock trim, it smokes pretty much any 4banger that is naturally aspirated, that includes lotus to the list............

As far as PNG selecting a Bseries engine into a Mazda, my question is WHY?????
Rotorys are already torqueless motors as is Honda, the only exception is that Rotarys make a much higher redline than a B series. Just doesn't make sence????
