I need advice asap

I have a 91 S13 Le .. it has 153K on the KA ... it burns oil but its weird , it only burns oil sometimes , like one day it will blow out white smoke kinda bad and the next day it wont smoke at all , But it smokes all the time when im idling for a while and hit the gas, any1 know what thats all about? i bought the car a month ago

And im planning on getting a swap .... but theres a big problem ... its an automatic , do u think its worth gettin it swapped to manual?

Thanks guys

1) Could be the rings are giving out, compression checking your engine will give you a little more info on the problem.
2)Yes it...unless you like having a auto

Auto to Manual is cake as long as the pedals and hardline get set up correctly.

Catch, no problems with the Auto to manual. It isn't really hard...just takes some time. You will be glad you did it

Catch, I highly recommend you get that auto to manual swap.

Like hyjynx said, its easy, but takes time.
I had mine done at Motorex, just remember to get a short throw shifter when you change transmission. It will help you in the future.

Putting that aside, why don't you go for the s13 sr20det blacktop?
Since the engine is almost dead, you should revive it with a sr.

I would do so if my car didn't have low mileage.

White smoke usually indicates a blown head gasket.. while heavy black smoke usually indicates worn piston rings.
