I want to get a 240sx,but i dont like high mileage

ok heres the deal. I want to get a 240sx. but all of them have high mileage. and those kind of cars dont run good. Also my paretns wont let me get a car with over 60k miles, but i see 240's with 90+k. i really want a 240sx. will it run fine or will i have problems with it everyweek. i want to do a sr20det s13blacktop swap. thanks for any info.

i got my 89 240sx coupe w/ only 35,ooo miles on it 3 years ago. They may be hard to find, but they're out there. But with that, I had to dealw/ allot of probs from the car not being driven enough, it mostly sat in the previous owner's driveway.

if you're gonna swap the motor, why would high mileage matter? just tell your parents your plan and see if they will follow what you're saying/ wanting to do.

i see, so you're saying you would pay a couple grand more for a car with less mileage even though you are going to swap the motor? i wouldnt, but thats just me. i'd get a cheaper one, swap the motor, get the body work done separately. that way i can have the car painted whatever color i want.

i doubt it. my brothers fastback has 130k+ miles on it. runs fine. i drive it everyday because I can't find a 240 myself. Just sold my 00 civic si. but, i think it would be fine. 240's are good cars and can take a beating.

it's the nature of an older car, you're asking us to tell you that you can go get a car w/ 7ok+ and then not have to worry about any problems w/ it after a motor switch. Sorry, it doesn't work that way. Either you go get a newer car, or you deal w/ the quirks of an older one.

These kind of topics are just real irritating. Just like Texas was saying. It is real hard to get the best of both worlds when looking for a car. You get what you pay for. Obviously the lower the miles the better but if you want something better you got to pay more. It is as simple as that.

Not to mention that each car is different. Nobody can say that you will or won't have problems because who knows how the car was treated during its usage. A 100k mile car may be in better condition than a 50k mile car if it was maintained better.

I think you need to start looking at 240's in your area and if your really set on one then be picky and get one that's mint. Thinking about it isn't going to do a whole lot unless you look at specific cars and see what they need and what's good about them.
