im kinda new to this
Well I was wondering if I could advance my timing with a timing light and how would I do it?

what degree is the stock timing set at? and what is the recommended farthest advancing in degrees. 
i would not want to fry my piston rings or blow up my pistons and cyclindars from too much pressure from advancing too far.
although it might sound cool
