from what i've read only noticeable intake difference's in noise are intake piping can make a "whooosh" when accelerator is depprresed, obviously from rushing intake air. ynot just get piping to? and why does it seem that everyone has questions about about I/H/E's lately?

All intake filters do is increase gas mileage.
You will probably add a donkey in top end power.

Better gas mileage and maybe free up 1-2hp. Also makes the intake sound when the resonatore boxand all that piping is removed.

My friend (who is more in motorcycles) recommended I use a BMC filter. K&N filters are around $50 while a BMC filter is about $80.
I don't know/see any research on BMC filters though.

i got a k&n drop in filter paid like 40. i took out the air box or whatever as well. the only reason i really did it was so i could get a little more air and wouldn't have to replace the filter every oil change.
