Ok just a question. I have a KA in my 240sx, now its not an awesome motor but just a question here. Why do people act like the KA motor is realy awesome? I mean people always act like "KA power!" Whats so great about the motor? Its technically an ol truck motor. I mean the JZ motor from toyota supra , VG motor from the 300zx, and the rotory power from Mazda. What makes the ol KA so great?

 

do a search on SR vs KA and you will get a good idea why people like the 2.4ltr engine

 

Call it a truck motor if you like, but the KA can put down some serious power if boosted. From the factory it has low compression, piston oil squirters, forged crank and rods, and a strong iron block.

The DOHC version also has a quite advanced valvetrain design for just "an ol truck motor."

japanesetuner8, you should try learning more about the motor before you go trying to put it down.

 

I wasn't trying to put it down I'm just asking a question here. The motor itself is just a standard little 4 cyl, so I was just asking about why people praise this almighty engine. I'm sure Nissan put alot of time and money into the R&D of this motor so its just a question of what makes this motor great? Just tell me why it is so praised

 

It's not praised often. If anything, it's underrated most of the time.
