ka24e & ka24de

Okay i know that you can take the pistons out of a sohc motor and install them into a dohc motor to raise compresion... but what about the rods and crank??? are they the same or would i use the dohc rods and crank...
the reason i ask this is because im buying another 240 and it has a bad motor (rod knock) but i have spare rods pistons and crank from a sohc motor... can i just put these in the dohc motor???
any help would kick much a$$ would hate to have to buy new rods and crank when i just had these ones at the machine shop...

more research today done at the auto parts store...these guys are my frinds so they let me open things i am not suposed to open... as for the rods... same part number in both master rebuild kits... crank is the same way with the exception of th 0001 for the ka24e and 0002 for the ka24de... bearings for rods and main are the same as well... the pistons are different numbers but that is beacuse of the different compression ratio (i think)...
i put the crank on the bench at the parts store and with a level i checked them as best as i could... seems to be the same damn crank to me... looks and all...im thinking about giving this a shot to see what i come up with...but befor i get started im going to do more research... gets the fsm out for the car...
