I agree with the above - start with a crappy S13 (cheapest is best) and drive the hell out of it until you learn how to drive/drift. If anything at least get a VLSD to kess around with, or a full-on clutch type LSD that you can later swap into a cleaner S13 once you're decent enough not to hit curbs, trees, guardrails, other cars, etc.

But before you even try to drift, learn how to drive. By your profile you're only 16, which means no matter how big your ***** may be, you are still a newb behind the wheel. There's so many younger people who think that drifting is cake when it's not. A lot of those kids end up on the side of the road with their car pushed up against a guradrail or worse. If you want to get into driving a drift car, learn how to drive (hard) first.

And that's not an insult, it's a statement.

I understand and thank you. Can drive, but mabe not to what you are expecting. I so far have done nothing stupid or illegal with my current cary (sonata) and was rear-ended but that wasen't my fault. I really appreciate all the help from everyone. I am a computer nerd and am branching into a love for cars and drifting as well. BTW, what do you think if this jem
$999 for 95 w/ busted front end I have also spent enough time looking into drifting, looking into cars and racing to understand that drifting is not easy in any respect. But can be enjoyable after a great deal of practice.

Edit:
Ites auto and it looks like its a ripoff, but what about this$700 OR
??

in the U.S. :

1989-1992 S13 coupe and hatch
1993 rare hatch and convertible
1994 convertible only
1995-1998 S14 coupe

Ditto with the damaged car - you're better off getting a car that can be restored (no frame damage) than a car that has hit something before

VLSD came with some 240's, or is the cheapest way to go LSD. Clutch-type LSD's start around triple what a VLSD costs. That's the only reason why.

cool, so is there a large performance difference? or would a vlsd be suitable for my position?

There's a definite performance difference, but like I said the price goes up for a clutch-type LSD, and it requires proper break-in and maintenance. If you want to mess with drifting and see if it's really what you want to get into, start with a VLSD. If you decide to go a different way than drift, you can use vlsd for autocross or something... and you don't shell out $700 or so for something you found out you didn't really need.
