Question Maybe stupid question!

Im not too familiar with Nissans but the other day a buddy was trying to get a jump, his battery died, but we didn't have any cables at that place and time I had my car running and removing the "+" wire the car turns off it was kindof weird for me since my other car is an EJ8 and when something like this happens it means my alternator isnt working properly but with my RPS it just turned off as soon as that happen i panic i thought my alternator battery was fkd up i tested the Alt but it seems to be good is this normal? like i said it might be a stupid question but im kinda confused. LMK thx

when the alt was tested i take it you removed it and took it in right?

with a volt meter you can check to see if the alt is functioning by placing the probes on the battery post with the engine off then on. if there is an increase in volts when the engine is on then the alt is working properly. i can't stress the importance of having clean battery and terminal posts. there have been quite a few times that i've inspected a car and the problem was just a loose or damaged connection.

yeah i removed it and took it in to two different Autozones, well the battery is clean no battery residue or anything like that, I have no problem with it I mean the car is running great, I just wanted to know if this was a normal thing to happen since i found this out by taking off my battery to help my buddy's car to start since we didn't have any cables. Thx

well with a DMM check the batter terminals with the car on it should be around 13-14 volts if its 12 or lower its not charging or not sufficiently charging
