The there is the rod millen lexus which he just finished putting together and it ONLY has 700+ hp, 6 spd tranny. wish it was so easy in our cars that we can take the maxima engine and tranny and put it in.

Small blocks are not too hard to swap into old Z's. There are even kits made for these swaps.
You can swap a small block into your 240 if you want - it probably wouldn't upset your weight balance as much as an RB swap. YOu can find aluminum block V8s, but all RBs are iron block.

i wonder how the car will handle with all that power, but then you'll have american rice, wonder, hmmmm....vette owners will hate you for having a car that is just as fast and can out handle them....let's do this instead of a sr swap

Just for the record - I spanked an IS300 yesterday. My car basically has an intake and exhaust, and hasn't had a tuneup in over 25,000 miles.
I'm going to see if I can get my friend to run me in his IS300 with an intake just to see.

I'm a member at www.is300.net, and most people seem to be running mid-high 15's on stock cars.
The best ET reported is 14.9. Don Brasco ran 15.0 in his completely stock 240...
The cars have more power, but they're also carrying around an extra 500+ pounds.

Well, hopefully I will get my firend to run me this Wednesday at least some numbers to go along with this.
Mine - 1991 240SE SE
HS Intake, ApexiN1Dual, 140k miles. Last tuneup 107k.
His - 2002 IS300
Rod Millen intake, <10K miles.
I just had him drive my car at lunch today - he thinks he can beat it (but he was also shifting @5k). I'm going to see if I can drag his *** to the strip.
And power to weight doesn't necessarily have a ton to do with it, but total weight certainly does. Even wheer in the car the weight is can make a huge difference on getting the car off the line.

I think there is less of a change in engine weight for the Z car that has the swap.
