MMM good deal, i thinks

okay, as some of you know, i blew my engine. in the search of a ka24de, i stumbled upon a totalled car from craigslist. its a 95 240sx SE, and the man claims it has 5 lug and lsd. got sandwiched front and rear, so its not repairable.
it still runs, engine is fine, and aparantly, interior is nice.
Now for the good part. he only wants 500 for it.
around here, i expected to pay 2-3 hundred for an engine alone, but this is quite the deal, i mean, sell the 5 lugs for a couple hundred, keep the wheels/tires as spares, sell the seats/anything else worth something, keep the lsd, and when its all said and parted for, scrap the shell for 2-3hundred. not only can i make a profit out of this, i can also get a "free" engine and LSD.
pretty good deal if you ask me.

sounds good if you have somewhere to store it without being harassed. I say go for it. seats, dash, and door panels will fetch some good money too

the way i figure it,
2-300 for 5 lug
120 engine harness
40maf
40 dizzy
40 ecu
100 seats
100 dash
50 door panels
any other random goodies

and if its a 5 speed, tack on another 4-500
and also the 200-300 in scrap metal

so around 1000 if its auto, up to 1500 if its manual, minus 500 for car, minus around 100 for trailer, so anywhere from 400 to 900 profit, and i get an engine, lsd, and 4 drift spares. now im getting all excitable.

Totally, scoop that up. Dont forget you can make money off all the interior trinkets too. I will buy things from you if it's manual.

Definitely profitable to part out. Keep in mind a few things though:

Wrecked cars are harder to work on, so look at the engine bay and see f there are going to be any problems with removing the engine

Time is money. Could the time you spend on this which will be considerable be more valuable doing something else. This kind of depends on what you do for a living

Also, you can sell the doors and driveshaft. Some stuff will be very hard to sell timewise

Do you know what color is the dash and interior trim? If its black, how much for it all? If it is black, dibs for sure on dash, head liner, and rear deck panel cover for the speakers!

Also, if you can pull the blower unit thats behind the glove box, I would love you for that too!
