my motor build up

I have a spare block and head from that bad sr20det I got from JDM Engines Corp back in 2006. So I decided to build up a high horsepower motor, after I get my new swap driving on the road!

I'll use it for just about everything from a drag motor, to my daily driver! Anyways, I'd like to get feedback from you guys to see what you think of it! I'm pushing for 400-500hp and ft/tq.

I'm including other items, not necessary to build the motor, but to list, as well so I don't forget the stuff

I'm still deciding on either a 2.2L Stroker Kit, or find an aftermarket crankshaft (which I have not found yet) and go with Eagle H Beam Connecting Rods, and Crower 87mm Pistons with a 9.0:1 compression, or something like that!

This motor buildup will be worked on over the next 12 months, I'm hoping by Jan. 1, 2008, the motor will be built, tested, and dropped in to my car.

Anyways enough background!

Parts to be used:

HKS:
Step 3 Head System 9000 RPM Redline
Step 3 Cams 272/272
Cam Gears Intake and Exhaust

Apexi:
1mm or 1.2mm Metal Head Gasket (help me decide, please!!!)

ARP:
Head Studs
Intake Studs
Exhaust Studs

Sard:
1000cc Fuel Injectors
Fuel Rail
All Vacuum Lines/Hoses

Garrett:
GT2871R Turbo

Greddy:
Intake Manifold Plenum
Cold Pipe
R-spl Intercooler
High Capacity Oil Pan
Aluminum Lightweight Pulley Set

AEM:
Engine Management System
Fuel Pressure Regulator

Nismo:
Low Temp Thermostat

ATI:
Super Damper Pully

F5 Fujita:
Short Ram Air Intake

DEI Cry02 Systems:
Install Kit with 10lb Tank
Spare 10lb Tank
Air Intake 3"
Air Intake 2-1/2"
Intercooler Sprayer 19" x 9" Front Mount
Fuel Bar Cooler
Dual Purge System
All Necessary Parts for Hookup, extra Hoses, Line Splitters, Tank Mounting Brackets, etc.

ZEX:
4 Cylinder Direct Port Nitrous System

Splitfire:
Super Direct Ignition System Coil Packs

Still Need to Find:
Pistons
Connecting Rods
Crankshaft
Complete Gasket Kit
T28 Top Mount Turbo Manifold (All that I find is stupid Megan Racing, and SSAutoChrome Ebay BullSh*t)
Oil Lines
Oil Pump
Water Pump
100-120 Amp Alternator
High Torque Starter
Power Steering Pump
Custom Fuel Cell to fit in Spare Tire Well

Let me know, if you know where I can get the stuff above at! Thanks!

Extra Stuff:
Custom 12 or 14 Point Roll Cage
Custom Grounding System using 4 Gauge Wire
Complete Suspension Build
Autopower 5/6 Point Pro-Cam Seat Harness
Autometer Gauges: Air Intake Temp, Pyrometer, Nitrous Pres, Fuel Pres, Oil Temp

I've probably forgot something, but oh well, you get the idea!

Do a KA turbo build. Makes a lot more tq, and has a lot more pimp status.

If you are shooting for 500 whp, go with the 0.86 A/R hot side....

Also, there are 3 different versions of the GT2871R.....you can find the differences on the Garrett website....

Anyways....most people will agree 500 whp is maybe pushing it on a GT2871R...but then again if you go with the stroker and upgrade vavletrain to bump up the redline, who knows haha

Good luck, this sounds interesting man

I've got about 6-8 months before I can worry about the turbo anyways, by that time I'll have one choosen out for the project.

Ok, I guess I will be going with the HKS 2.2 L Stroker Kit.

Thanks for all the replies!
