the car would still run with 1 bad injector it might even run with 2 bad injectors with 3 would stuble try to start well anyway if you have fuel and spark and not starting then are getting compression? do a compression test test all cylinders.
also the computer could be bad if you are getting compression

I'm going run a compression test on the motor after lunch. Wouldn't I hear it if the fuel was igniniting even if it was bad compression?

Just talked to the person I bought it from, when they did the swap it was just the motor, the ECU is the stock one from the dead 93 motor, not the one attached to the 92 they swapped in.

you can use any OBD1 (91-94) ecu only difference between them all are slight tune differences.

do an OBD check and see what codes it throws at ya.

i second the compression also.

Well here is the bad news...40spi compression in the front cylinder. Didnt check the other three. Pulled off the valve cover to look at the cams and there is water in the valleys. That ugly milky water/oil mix. So we think it may be a blown head gasket thats the route of the issues. This next week will be pulling the head and checking the gasket. If its just the gasket, we will do what repairs are needed and button her back up. If its something worse, family has decided the SR20DET comes to our garage a little faster than orignally thought.

The joy of used car ownership, but then we bought the car assuming the motor was nothing more than a paper weight anyway.

Believe me I know that one first hand. My fist car was a focus...had the "big" 2.0L motor, put hondas to shame. Right after I bought the car, GM started to sell cars with 2.2L motors and left me in the dust. My main reason for the SR20 is turbo power and near-factory reliablity. Even though im having this issue with my car, I have to say I'm very happy with it. The list of non-working items is very short. Motor, Radio (has none), A/C(same as radio), and Cruise Control (Ditto)

lol well stock SR isnt very powerfull at all i was extremely disapointed when i installed mine i guess all the hype got to me. but i will say this small things get you some pretty decent power with the little motor.

b4 my accident my sr had fmic, catback hks filter stock intake and a boost controller at 14psi was a huge difference from stock... now my engine is no where near stock and it runs like *** till i get it tuned lol.

either way both engines are troopers ive ragged the **** out of both ka and SR and neither have failed me proper maint is all they need so its up to you.

Dude, Batto, I think that the hp from a stock sr is a big difference from a stock KA. I mean sure it's NEVER enough power, but it's still a big difference. And yesterday, I found out that half my vacuum lines were messed up and going to the wrong place, so now I have to fix all of that, and fix the other 6 million problems that I caused yesterday
